Valerie Burroughs Bio
Valerie Burroughs is an experienced Creative Director and Product Line Manager specializing in footwear and accessories. Valerie has worked in the footwear industry for over 15 years and earned a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising, minoring in Business Management.
Starting as an Account Manager at Chinook Asia LLC (a US based footwear sourcing agent) she quickly moved into product focused roles. Valerie worked as a Footwear Developer throughout her 13 years at Chinook along with acquiring many other responsibilities. While working as a Product Developer she worked with brands such as American Eagle Outfitters, Jack & Jones and Marks. She not only focused on product, she excelled at sales and relationship building. Year after year Valerie grew each customer account she worked on.
Her passion for footwear and accessories moved her into Product Line Management for Marks Women’s Casual footwear, Mozo, TSUBO, and ULU Boot. Gaining success with Product Line Planning and Management, she moved into Creative Directing Chinook’s brands: Mozo, TSUBO, and ULU Boot branching into website creation, social media, and sales management all while developing products for the brands. Valerie picked up both TSUBO and ULU Boot from a dormant point, bringing the brands back to life. ULU Boot is experiencing sales that surpass anything the 20+-year-old brand has ever seen before. Shoes For Crews acquired Mozo and the most popular styles presently offered are the ones that were developed by Valerie.
Valerie left Chinook in early 2019 to move to Honolulu, Hawaii. She started her own consulting company, V.B. Creative, which focuses on design, branding, and marketing. At this time, she still manages and runs all marketing for Anabaglish Handbags, and developed the Skinnys sock line, along with other local projects for fitness studios and personal branding and portfolio websites.
Valerie’s passions besides fashion, footwear, and accessories are her family, the outdoors, traveling, surfing, running, hiking, cycling, Oregon Duck football, cooking, and her cats Leon & Lani.
